A CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS OF HILLARY CLINTON’S SPEECH “WOMEN’S RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS”

In the research, speech “Women’s rights are human rights” by Hillary Clinton will be analyzed in light of critical discourse analysis (CDA) as both theory and method to reveal how power ideology embedded language particular relation between society general. Initially, theoretical framework CDA, concepts presented. The social context women’s position including past nowadays is also revealed. research then briefs on Clinton’s role struggling for rights. terms methodology, importance Systemic Functional Grammar CDA a procedure, which set basis rights”, introduced explained. Thirdly, article analyzes CDA. consists three stages namely description, interpretation explanation. last part summarizes major findings, provides concluding remarks, gives implication teaching learning translation makes recommendations further studies.
